Everything families usually ask about lessons, tutors, scheduling and billing.

Tutoring sessions

What is taught in the lessons?

Lessons follow what you are learning at school, in AA or AI, at SL or HL. Your teacher checks what you already know, explains new topics until they make sense and practices exam-style questions for each paper. When the time comes, lessons also cover the Internal Assessment.

Can you help with the Internal Assessment?

Yes. The Internal Assessment (IA) is a mathematical exploration worth 20% of the final grade. Your teacher can help you choose a workable topic, plan the structure and present the math clearly. The exploration must be your own work, so we guide the process and never write it for you.

Do you help with exam preparation?

Yes. Lessons include exam-style practice for Paper 1 and Paper 2, and for Paper 3 at HL. DP exams are held in May and November, and your teacher can plan the weeks before the exams with you.

Do you offer online and in-person tutoring options?

No, we only offer online support. We ensure high-quality learning through proven teaching strategies from our exceptional team, personalized lessons and an interactive platform, Lessonspace.

What can I expect after confirming the first lesson?

You’ll receive an email with onboarding steps, including your tutor match and lesson schedule, and a diagnostic learning skills survey.

Read what to expect
How do online lessons work?

You’ll receive a link to join in your browser (no app needed), where your child works with their tutor on current topics and assessment preparation using a collaborative whiteboard.

Which platform do you use?

We use Lessonspace for our lessons.

Do you go through homework?

We are not “homework help”. We guide students through concepts so that they understand them, gain confidence and can complete their homework independently.

What does my child need to “bring” to the lesson?

A computer with a strong internet connection, class notes, the course syllabus and a graphic display calculator. A writing tablet for the online whiteboard helps but is optional.

How long is a typical session?

Sessions are typically 1 hour long.

How often do you schedule sessions?

Most students meet once a week. Some students prefer to meet twice a week. At this time, we do not offer biweekly lessons.

Is it always with the same tutor?

Yes, we match your child with a consistent tutor, and we’re happy to adjust if the fit doesn’t feel right.

How do I access my lesson?

Log in to our platform, or wait for a reminder email with the link to join.

Tutors and curriculum

Which DP math courses do you support?

Both DP math courses: Mathematics: Analysis and Approaches (AA) and Mathematics: Applications and Interpretation (AI), at Standard Level (SL) and Higher Level (HL).

Who are your tutors?

Our tutors are qualified teachers who teach, or have taught, DP mathematics at international schools in Europe, Asia, the Middle East and the Americas.

What is the difference between AA and AI?

AA puts more weight on algebra, functions and calculus, and Paper 1 is sat without a calculator. AI puts more weight on modeling, statistics and technology, and every paper uses a graphic display calculator. Both are offered at SL and HL, and the choice is made with your school.

Is the DP math course changing?

Yes. The IB has announced updated AA and AI courses, first taught from August 2027 and first examined in May 2029. The current courses are examined for the last time in November 2028. The IB describes the update as a refinement: some content is removed and none is added.

Do you only teach math?

Yes. We teach IB DP mathematics: AA and AI, at SL and HL. For MYP 1–5, our sister site MYP Math Tutor offers the same weekly one-to-one lessons. Both are part of Worldly Tutors.

Do you offer other curricula?

At this time, we specialize in IB DP math. If your child is transitioning from or studying a different curriculum, we cannot guarantee support for that curriculum.

What age groups do you work with?

We work with DP students, usually aged 16 to 18, in DP 1 and DP 2 (Grades 11 and 12). Younger students in MYP 1–5 learn with our sister site, MYP Math Tutor.

Scheduling and billing

How much is a session?

DP math lessons are €92 per hour until December 31, 2026, and €97 per hour from January 1, 2027. Every lesson is a personalized one-to-one session with your tutor, with high-quality resources.

How do I pay?

We send a monthly invoice, which can be paid securely by credit card or iDEAL through Stripe.

Do I pay monthly, per lesson or per package?

You are invoiced monthly based on the lessons attended.

Cancellations and changes

What is your cancellation policy?

We require 24 hours’ notice to cancel or reschedule a lesson; otherwise the lesson is charged in full.

How do you cancel or reschedule?

You can cancel or reschedule through our platform, or email your tutor directly with at least 24 hours’ notice.

What if my child is going on vacation?

That’s no problem. Just cancel sessions in advance with at least 24 hours’ notice to avoid charges.

What if my child has an event and needs to reschedule a lesson?

You can reschedule or cancel as needed, as long as you give at least 24 hours’ notice to avoid charges.

What if my child is sick?

Our standard cancellation policy still applies. Please cancel at least 24 hours in advance to avoid charges. Late cancellations are charged in full, as tutors prepare lessons and reserve that time.
